Chey Institute hosted its 2nd Scientific Innovation Lecture on Dec 4th, 2019. Dr. Robert D. Atkinson, who is the founder and president of the ITIF, participated as the second lecturer of the series. Dr. Atkinson first tried to clarify the change in society, often referred to as the 4th Industrial Revolution, through the use of the term 'CAS Wave (Connected, Automated, Smart Wave)'. Then he explained how countries' efforts and competition patterns to adapt to these changes are demonstrated, and how IT innovation has affected geopolitical risks. In addition, he stressed that it was urgent to respond to these changes by improving productivity through policy support. Professor Lee Keun of Seoul National University, Professor Lee Keunwook of Sogang University, and Professor Byong-Hyo Shim of Seoul National University participated as discussants and gave a variety of comments from the relevant fields.
