Quantum computers are coming, with scientists and engineers exploring multiple pathways toward scalable and commercially viable computing. The Chey Institute invited Kim Jung-sang (Professor, Duke University; Co-founder, IonQ*) on February 11, 2023, to present the principles and practical applications of his company’s technology using trapped ions. Joining him on the stage were Ahn Jung Ho (Professor, Seoul National University) and Kim Jun-Ki (Professor, Sungkyunkwan University), who discussed the opportunities, challenges, and emerging risks associated with new quantum capabilities.
