The Chey Institute for Advanced Studies, the East Asia Institute, and the Institute for Future Strategy of Seoul National University co-hosted a conference on July 24, 2025, under the theme “Korea’s Foreign Policy and National Security Strategy.” The conference was convened against the backdrop of mounting global shocks and structural uncertainties confronting the newly launched Korean government in June 2025—challenges expected to shape Korea’s strategic trajectory in the years ahead.

Bringing together leading experts in foreign policy, military affairs, and economic security, the event provided a platform for in-depth discussion on how Korea should recalibrate its national strategy in an increasingly volatile international environment. Discussions focused on identifying strategic priorities and formulating coherent policy directions to enhance Korea’s diplomatic posture and national security resilience.

Participants included Kim Jungsup (Principal Fellow, Sejong Institute), Chun Chaesung (Professor, Seoul National University), Sohn Yul (Professor, Yonsei University), Sohn Injoo (Professor, Seoul National University), Kwon Seokjoon (Professor, Sungkyunkwan University), and Park Jonghee (Professor, Seoul National University), who contributed policy-relevant insights grounded in academic research and practical experience.
