On May 13, 2025, the Chey Institute, the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, and the Nordic Embassies in Korea co-hosted the Plenary Session of the Nordic+Korea Innovation Days 2025. While geographically distant, the four Nordic nations—Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden—share a legacy of friendship and diplomatic ties with Korea spanning nearly seven decades. The Nordic+Korea Innovation Days was jointly organized to celebrate this partnership, inspire cooperative problem-solving, and promote resilience through sustainable action.
At the Plenary Session, Kim Yoosuk (President, Chey Institute), the four Nordic Ambassadors—Jyri Järviaho (Finland), Anne Kari Hansen Ovind (Norway), Karl-Olof Andersson (Sweden), and Philip Alexander Hallqvist (Denmark)—and renowned experts representing the five nations joined to mark the opening of the week-long event. Throughout the week, a series of seminars and networking activities, prepared by the Embassies in collaboration with their Korean counterparts, took place across Seoul.
