CHEY-KIEA Conference

Chey Institute for Advanced Studies and the Korea International Economic Association co-organized a conference to address tectonic shifts in the economic landscape of Northeast Asia. The occasion invited attendees to think about the US-China trade war and what the escalation of strategic competition means to the current liberal economic order.

Tectonic Shift in the Economic Landscape of Northeast Asia
Chey Institute for Advanced Studies and Korea International Economic Association jointly hosted a special seminar titled "Tectonic Shift in the Economic Landscape of Northeast Asia - New Normal in Strategic Competition" to discuss the impact of US-China trade conflicts and tech race on Northeast Asia as well as Korea's option amidst two countries' strategic rivalry.

Sessions included “US-China Trade Conflict and Implication for Northeast Asian Economy” and “China’s Leapfrogging in Technology: Competition or Cooperation? Focus on Semiconductor and 5G.”
