2018년 10월 24-25일 양일에 걸쳐 제1차 방콕포럼이 개최됐다. 첫 날 개회식에는 박인국 최종현학술원 원장, 마하 차크리 시린돈(Maha Chakri Sirindhorn) 공주가 축사를 연설했다. 기조연설자로 수파차이 파니치팍디(Supachai Panitchpakdi) 전 세계무역기구 사무총장, 놀린 헤이저(Noeleen Heyzer) UN 아시아-태평양 경제사회위원회 사무총장, 함홍주 UN 아시아-태평양 경제사회위원회 사무차장이 참석했다. 이후 진행되는 패널 세션에는 아시아 지역개발과 불평등, 사회정의, 대학/시민 교육 및 교류 등 다양한 문제에 대해 논의했다.
