Main Forum

  • UKC

    Through its sponsorship of UKC, the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies co-hosts special sessions to strengthen exchanges between Korean and American scientists and actively explore opportunities for international collaboration. In particular, the Institute is expanding engagement not only with researchers but also with industry leaders and science and technology policymakers.

    These efforts aim to anticipate future directions of scientific and technological advancement, promote collaboration across academia, industry, and research institutions, and enhance Korea’s role within the global research ecosystem.

  • Science & Technology Innovation Council

    The Science and Technology Innovation Council takes the lead in discussing cutting-edge trends in key scientific and technological fields while pursuing interdisciplinary synergy. Based on active academia-industry collaboration, we aim to spearhead the development of foundational technologies, overcome technological challenges, and contribute to scientific and technological innovation for a sustainable future.

    Launched on June 27, 2022, with the participation of 52 leading scholars from Korea and abroad, the Council has continued to grow by engaging emerging experts across a wide range of disciplines. It hosts regular meetings and workshops to exchange the latest research developments, while topic-based working groups foster in-depth, interdisciplinary dialogue. These efforts are geared toward proposing convergent and innovative solutions to various societal issues based on science and technology, as well as mapping out a roadmap for future industrial technologies that will guide Korea and the world.

Other Forums

Since 2004, the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies has been hosting the International Confucian Forum in collaboration with Renmin University of China. Focusing on Confucianism, the essence of Eastern philosophy, the forum aims to explore ways to overcome the crises and challenges facing Asia-and humanity as a whole-and to contribute to the advancement of human society.

Since 2015, the Chey Institute has also hosted the Nanjing Forum with Nanjing University, the Tianjin Forum with Nankai University, and the Shandong Forum with Shandong University. These global forums aim to promote regional cooperation and to share wisdom that enables flexible responses to the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing era.
